"Reaching Hot Rodders for Jesus Christ"

The Story

In the fall of 1999, while in prayer, God began to speak to me about a hot rod ministry. Reaching hot rodders for Jesus Christ rang out in my spirit.

A few days later Barbie and I were invited to a Christmas dinner with some friends of ours. The guest speaker just happened to be Ken Owen, president of Christian Motorsports International. We became good friends with Ken who taught us a tremendous amount of knowledge for hosting car shows, rod runs and cruise-ins. We learned a lot from Ken and his organization. For seven years we hosted quality car shows and at each show we promoted the gospel of Jesus Christ through giving Bibles and tracts and by one on one witnessing. We also supported the Salvation Army Kids Camp at Heber, AZ.

In 2001 Barbie and I entered our car in the World of Wheels car show at the Civic Plaza in Phoenix. At that time we saw a man vigorously polishing his 41 Willy’s. My wife pointed out that the Lord was showing her this man’s car was his god. As we looked around we saw that it was so with others. Then the Lord said to me,” I want to be their God son, what are you going to do about it?”  This was again conformation that we are called to reach hot rodders for Jesus Christ. [back to the top]

The Vision

Our vision is presenting the gospel message to hot rodders at every event and through every media source available to us. These are the major areas listed below.

  1. Regional Car Shows.
  2. Internet TV, using Streaming Faith.
  3. Cable TV. Talking about Hot rods and sharing the love of God.
  4. A National Christian Hot Rod Magazine.
  5. A Restoration Shop.

Ministering at other shows not hosted by C.H.R.A.

The Plan

The Lord spoke to me about 7 regional shows across the United States. 1. The Southwest Regional Show, 2. The Northwest Regional Show, 3. Mid-America Show, 4. Southeast Regional Show, 5. The Northeast Regional Show, 6. Texas Regional Rod Run, 7. Northern Regional Show.  The plan is to establish team members to prepare the shows by following our guidelines. At each show we will have guest speakers along with me and other team members to minister the uncompromised word of God, drawing people into the kingdom of God. Our desire is for each show to be hosted by a local church.

There are many hot rod magazines on the market. It has been a dream for years to establish a first class magazine featuring shows and other events, the how to’s of building a car from ground up to adding horse power with little effort. Our magazine will feature testimonies from believers and articles teaching the uncompromised word of God, teaching people how to draw close to Him. We will solicit ads from the normal hot rod suppliers. To accomplish this will require a knowledgeable team who will have the heart and the desire to produce such a magazine.

Internet TV is an up and coming method for reaching the internet users. Streaming Faith is the system we will use. We can use the same productions for cable TV that we use in streaming.

The restoration shop is multi purposed. There are many qualified people in the Christian community who are talented when it comes to building hot rods or restoring cars. The restoration shop will give these men the opportunity to work in this field of dreams. The shop will be a great place for fellowship where believers can come and build, help build, repair or just come down and clean and polish their ride. Our goal is to build quality cars to be given away at each show.

Another desire is to establish teams, by permission, at other shows to minister through onsite church services. Some of these shows are so large that there is a need for more than one church service at the event. Some events have as many as 7 to 10 thousand cars and the event is usually 4 to 5 days long.  [back to the top]
